Most people here know a lot about Ali, but not enough about Liston.

Liston would never go down that easily. He took a dive because he feared for his life against the Nation of Islam (NOI). Especially since this match took place 2-3 months after the assassination of Malcolm X.

If you think that punch was hard enough to knock Liston out, then you're a fool that clearly does not know anything about boxing,the history of our country, or the culture of the times. Do some research on something other than a "200lb man moving forward". Ali is, was, and may always be the greatest. Liston taking a dive does not detract from that, and Liston taking a dive should be no harder to understand than the name "Cassius Clay"...There were very real reasons, beyond boxing, behind this.

Trust me , I sparred a heavyweight as a lightweight.I'm a southpaw. I pretended I was tired and moved backwards like Ali and then stepped forward with a straight right hook with absolutely no force. The heavyweight I sparred, ran straight into the punch, and his head turned. His chin touched his shoulder

You can see Liston's head snap back from the force of the punch. Ali hit him just right. It's legit.

I want to believe that Listin did not take a dive. The bunch hit him right on the button, no doubt. However, watch Ali's lack of rotation when he delivers the right. His hips don't rotate. His shoulders rotate only slightly. Liston was not known as a glass jaw fighter. I can't believe this blow sent him to the canvas for a TEN COUNT. Ali caught him, no doubt. But the boxing physics suggest a trained heavy weight isn't KO'ed by this blow.
