What a fine drummer he was!

A true gentlemen musican ............I had the luck of a photo taken with one of louies kits in the Zildjian factory 1997, I recon Louie will be swinging away up there with Gean and Buddy.
-
I live in the town right across the river from where Louie is from and got to play with him at his birthday celebrations they have for him a couple times. One of the greatest experiences of my life that I'll remember as long as I live. GREAT musician.

A great drummer and a GREAT PERSON!
-
wow, fantastic - and a pity he faded away, but after such a life...
I wonder who that second drumset upper left corner is for ...
-
@mcguillicutty1234 He is playing a open double stroke roll, and splits each double between tom and snare.
-
The original pioneer of the double bass technique. I met Mr.Belson several times between 1978 and 1982. My fater introduced me to him the first time at Lake Buena Vista Fl. He was all talent and nothing but class!
What's he sitting on?

Looks like the old style drum thrown (seat). Check old vids of the drum greats, you'll see the same type.

I had the privilege of meeting Louie numerous times during the 70's and 80's. He was the nicest person that I've met...ever. And the most musical drummer of them all. A true genius. RIP Louie!!!!

How fortunate you were to have met, and talked with him! He's resting fairly near to my home in Illinois, so we're gonna go and pay him our Sincere respects. What a guy huh, he'll be sorely missed!
