@CharlesWilburPiano I've been sitting here on the edge of my seat hanging on every note. I've just realised that I've been holding my headphones to my ears and my knuckles are seizing up!
It must have been a privilege to have him as a teacher!!!

Wow, thank you for uploading. To think I learned this concerto from scratch with him makes this even more special. Amazing pianist

@grupoyuri1 He was the most helpful, encouraging and inspiring teacher I have ever had. I will love him as long as I continue breathing.

Upload more of this genius!

Thank you so much for uploading this. I heard him play this very concerto live , at about the period that this concert was recorded , though not with the Moscow philharmonic. He was such a brilliant pianist. The first time I heard him, I was just stunned. . . With his premature death and sparse recordings (the best of which --the etudes-- were never reissued in CD, alas), I'd given up hop of ever hearing his music again. But this brings it all back. Thank you for this treasure.

@CharlesWilburPiano I'm with you there, Charles. This is too delicious to only give us a taste!
It MUST be in context: all three Movements, PLEASE, grupoyuri1!
I know YouTube only allows for a limited length of time for uploads... but, you must be able to upload the other two Movements separately!

@irynski You were, then, extremely fortunate to have formulated a relationship with him.
I'm sorry for your loss... which is, also, the world's loss.
I'm sitting here listening for the 4th time this evening... and can't get over how completely effortless he made it feel!!! Any pianist KNOWS this is an agonisingly difficult piece. How did he manage it? It pours out of him as if were an extension of himself.
Beautiful; stunning; mesmerising. What genius!

@irynski The man had giant hands and a heart of gold. I cannot say enough about him. I love this man.

What a wonderful surprise!! Thanks for uploading this video!! I hope you have the other movements as well. I would love to listen to his performance of the whole piece.
Listening to this incredible musicianship and drinking a toast today, what would've been Alexander Slobodyanik's 70th birthday.
