We were walking over Irvine Moor late in the morning with the dog, and heard the river before we saw it! The rise in temperature over the last couple of days had broken up the ice, and with heavy rain overnight the river was in a spate that washed it away .

This clip started out as three clips, and I used the Youtube video editor to join them together, showing the ice moving as we headed upstream.

The video starts at the railway bridge (known locally as either Campbells Bridge or Victoria Bridge), near Bogside Golf Course. It finishes at the weir with some larger sheets of ice breaking up as they go over the edge.....

  • does the lens make a weird sound when you zoom in or out ?

  • @goffalzone its the motor for the lens.as it's only a small compact camera the micraphone isn't far enough from the motor so it picks it up

  • Yes you did mate, but I finally stopped being lazy and used the video editor to stick three clips together. Never done that before and there's no stopping me now ;-)

Just going to join three clips of housemartins together now.....
