Made this in my spare time for a treasure hunt I was working on. This was the first version of the cryptex I made. Later on I made a plastic solid version that I actually carved into and used in the treasure hunt.

  • girl make a good cryptex not shit

    use metal

  • hahaha! I'd remove your comment because of the cuss (I like to keep everything g-rated for my nieces) but I think that was pretty funny. How about YOU make a metal cryptex with scissors, glue gun and cardboard as your only materials to work with, and let me know how it goes. :) Seriously though - not everyone has metal working skills, metal working tools, and spare metal lying around with which to play.

  • Hugely impressive girly. How long did it take you to make???

  • Thanks! I think it took about 3 hours. Maybe 4. Don't remember exactly.

  • Thanks Gaddian,,,,,,

  • It's still coming. I haven't forgotten. Life just gets busy. I will try to post it by the end of the week. :) (Also, it's only made from cardboard and magazines, so it should be things you will be able to locate.)

  • u may want to put a vial of vinegar in it so when someone tries to destroy it, it dissolves the ink on a papyrus paper.
