  • Damn..it's pretty nice to a 50 MB operating system..

  • DSL is quite good for old machines, if you have a new one use a better ditro, but is some country´s people dont often have a high end machine, so when they need to use Linux (Ex Ubuntu) they found it too overweight for his machine.

  • @Gispero

it should run suse linux 9 when used not to extensively hard to find now a days sadly :(

  • you can use PCLinuxOS ( LXDE version for better performance ) but i think you can use the miniKDE version as well .

or you can use LinuxMint FluxBox version .......

As in general any fluxbox , LXDE versions should work pretty well .

  • I have a Compaq Armada 110, 850MHz CPU and 128MB, graphics card uses 8MB. It works well with Windows 2000, what Linux distro would you recommend for this laptop, I want to use it for word processing and web surfing.

  • What did you use to record your screen? I have Suse 11.0 What do you recommend?

  • Actually there are sites that sell games only for linux like linux game publishing and tux games the games are just as good as windows games

  • with DS linux it is in a different format and is based off different code. any other distributation of linux WONT work on the DS because it is not coded for the DS.

  • Wine is still under contruction and doesnt play big games like that (YET) but it will run most software and small games with very slow speed. Wine = wine is not an Emulator

  • One might say no, but you could use an application like wine to run windows applications and games like Halo. I know some people who use Wine to run iTunes inside a linux installation.

  • I've tried DSL. It's impressively small, but too limited to be useful to me, really.

It's great for some purposes, though.
