@xKenseixX No offense taken. One of the reasons I vote either for the Democrat or the Republican is because they are the only two who, realistically speaking, have any chance of being elected.
-
@xKenseixX The person who made "coldness" remark believes that there are some people who, through absolutely no fault of their own, are in need of assistance, and he was wondering whether the Libertarians have any sympathy or concern for such people. If you could respond to that, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

@mindspring57 Cont. - not to vote for them. I've never seen a real liberty loving Libertarian with any type of underlying root that turns off people. Unless of course they are people who want government in our lives, feeding us and taking care of us, or a pretend conservative who claims they want less government but will surely sacrifice them for pretend safety.
Mark Twain once stated that a patriot is scarce when trying to change the country, and only when it success do the timid join him.
-
@mindspring57 They don't stand a chance because people yourself, in no rude way intended, vote for the same party lines, year after year. Many will die doing the same fed systematic voting their parents did before them. Who then will vote for the "right" person before the bandwagon agrees they can win if you don't?
Also, a true Libertarian in these days stands for freedom and individual freedom and following the constitution. If that person whole heatedly reflects that, there is no reason

@xKenseixX If the Libertarians or any other third group had a realistic chance, but of course, until people vote for them, they won't, so it is a dog chasing its tail. The last successful third party was the Republicans in 1860 (Lincoln). Many Libertarians, paraphrasing George Will, have a "coldness at the center" that turns a lot of people off once they discover it.
-
@mindspring57 Good points. But there was an option, a libertarian one. But, as usual, people can't ever dream of not following the fed mentality of Rep. or Dem..
Though I really don't care much about a elected officials private life, as it's their own, but I agree it shows character. McCain has double talked so much and voted so many times on horrible things it drives me nuts on how people can vote for him.
I also didn't know about the Baptist Church thing, that's interesting indeed.
-
@xKenseixX I voted for McCain in the primary was because Hayworth is a kook. But I agree, John McCain is completely lacking in moral character. He cheated on his physically-disabled first wife, and then dumped her so he could marry a younger richer trophy bride. John McCain supports only what is good for John McCain. Another example: he attends North Phoenix Baptist Church (it is one of the biggest and showiest) but has not been baptized. Omigosh! Can't make any commitment, now can we?

Good God, defending the concept of torture for whatever reason.. Unbelievable in a civilised country.
dmp079: Anyone who claims to be a Chris Matthews fan has ZERO credibility in calling anyone else a kook. Look in the mirror, dude.
