Overtaking under the safety car.....the sign of a desperate has been

The rule was unclear - Alonso should've been given back the position and Schumacher should have been put back to where he was, but no stupid penalty. It's the FIA's fault, not Schumi's or Fernando's.

Hamilton's Fault

@gatonegro6 lo siento, clásico error.

Schumacher the BEST!!

Isn't this like the first time Schumacher exploited the rule and lost?
-
its pretty clear cut, from a regulation standpoint, that this was completely legal. the only possible explination that the stewards should have is it was comonly thought at this point that there was no overtaking allowed. but still, the regulations allowed for this to happen at the time. schumi shouldnt have been penalised.

only schumy can pull off something like this :D

@Blindkiller64 The Race enden not in the Safetycar as it was Safetycar in this Lap and the Sc turned into the Box BEFORE *BEFORE* the freakin finish line. Green flags were shown which stated clearly(at the rules that applied at the time the race took place) that the track is free for racing. The maneuver was legal, Hill wanted to punish Schumi for being way better than him.
-
@SupaSix1 it more the bastard Hill, then the IFA. Although i agree that the FIA is not much better than Hill.
-
@gatonegro6 No you idiot, he was punished by Hill, for beeing way better than him.
@regismo It is clear... But since Schumacher saw green, he took a chance.
And that is why i will always think of Schumcaher as a great driver...

@regismo
That rule didn't exist when Schumacher made the move, though. According to 40.7 Schumacher could overtake after the SC line (which he did), but 40.13 made no mention of it being disallowed.
The rule was changed later, which was pretty hypocritical.
