I believe Sonny played a Clark steel. Though his Clark was red. And it may be a ZB. Been wrong before.

gotta love the lead guitar

@ovaltine52 Hi, ya it's not Curly Chalker. He had a 1 of a kind style! Glad you knew not only who is backing up Tammy up on steel, but even the brand of steel Sonny has. Curly used Sho-Bud & MSA.

No mistaking her voice anywhere. Wonderful and so beautiful

Johi2410; Nope, that's not Curls, that's Sonny Curtis on his ZB.

The best female country voice in the history of music. And beautiful too. Thank-you for the music Tammy Wynette.

I remember listening to this stuff as a kid when My mom would play it on this Stereo System. It was like this big dresser size thing with lights that would light up to the beat of the bass.
Tammy was so beautiful, and kept that voice til the end. There was no one like her and never could be. Imitators come anew but only Tammy's voice is true. Her sound blends with a steel guitar, and people know it near and far.

Yes, these are the Jones Boys backing her up, James Holley on Bass, Freddie Haws on Electric, and Curly Chalker on Steel. I like the way Tammy smiles! Just really cute!
