Unlike most media concerning Muslims, the Ask a Muslim series focuses on a routinely overlooked community of American Muslims: African Americans. The African American of the 20th and 21st century has had a very significant role establishing Islam in America however Black authors, scholars, entertainers, and other individuals and groups of note are often ignored when discussions arise about Islam in America.

This 6-part web series offers the viewer unprecedented access to a handful of influential to everyday Black Muslims in the United States. It challenges them to answer questions about Islam from a pool of random questioners with limited (and sometimes tainted) access to information regarding Muslims, especially Black Muslims.

This web series from emerging filmmaker Idris Abdul-Zahir along with Ra'id De Veaux and Qasim Rashad, draws the viewer into questions from the public about the lifestyle, beliefs, traditions, and practices of American Muslims.

I don't know man, and talking about authentic and unauthentic, i really don't know, because its irrational and illogic to say that verse in Al-Tabiri where Muhammad said good thing about poeple are the only authentic verses, and verses in Al-Tabiri where Muhammad said bad stuffz about poeple, are unauthentic while both postive and negatives things that Muhammad said are found in the same hadith. How is that logical ?

okay.. but u shuld look at the Hadiths whic r authentic.. not an unauthentic ones.. in those websites usually, they provide unauthentic and taking the words out of context.. so when Muhammed said 'every one s equal' people were inspired and embraced.. then how can he say such things..???

I know poeple would not want to accept the thruth because they love thier Prophet. But the fact is that there are various verse from the hadith, where Muhammad spoke racism against black poeple. Muhammad said that it was Noah who prayed to Allah so that our skin would be dark so that blacks will be sold as slaves to Arabs and Turks (Al-Tabari, Vol. 2, p. 11, p. 11). If you're white you will try to justify this, but as a black man, i just want you to know that it hurts me alot, it real hurt me !

If that anti-Islamic website is just accusing Muhammad for racism without reference, i wouldn't believe that they say, but since they say thing while referencing it from Hadith, why should i not believe in it ? Again i repeat myself, i'm not saying that Muslims are racist poeple, no Muslims are good poeple but all i am saying is that according to the hadith Muhammad spoke some racist words against my black poeple ! Muhammad said that whosever say that he is black must be killed.

your right, islam is very racist religion.. have you heard recently arabs are callling themselves caucasians? when there many dark skinned arabs?

I am proud to be from sub saharan africa, a cushite is who i am, an african race... and i was called a nigger by a yemeni whose ancestors were africans.

islam is not a religion for africans.. all dark skinned people should leave islam.

very soon we will hear islam is for arabs.

I am a Muslim from Thailand. We are all brothers and sisters. In Islam, there are no nationalism, ethnicity, or social classes. There is only one thing and one thing only...that is how strong is your faith to believe in Allah!
