Chomsky's statement in Boston: Just as in Ireland, start paying respect to 'legitimate grievances' of Palestinians instead of immovable, US backed obnoxiousness. In other words: back off and show some humility, humanity and a sense of historic perspective. There are countless 'Palestinian Anne Franks' out there. Of all people, the Jewish people should know better. They, and the US are not fooling us anymore. We live in democracies, so lets organize our voices and demand representation.

Thanks for posting this. I like Chomsky's point about how Israel cannot have any legitimate defense when they continue to seize Palestinian land. One interesting point is that recent genetic studies show that the Palestinians are a semetic people who are more closely related to the ancient Jewish people that most Israelis. Thus the Israelis are commiting atrocities against their own brothers and sisters.

Noone is saying it isn't FUBAR . I'm saying that land theft will continue and that the US will continue to support Israel no matter what. I had hoped Obama would be different but he is afraid of AIPAC and it's controlling interest is Israel and the US. Also haven't you noticed how the media has basically ceased to metion the west bank? It is all part of the plan to steal more land and dispossess the rightful owners of their lands.
How about this... Israel wants the west bank and will absorb it whilst GAza will become the palestinian state. That still gives the jews the majority in elections and control of the country!
I also liked how mitchel said nothing a bout where the palestinian state would be...

Why should priority be given to what "Israel wants" or to what "gives the jews the majority in elections", especially when Israel is the aggressor? Also, it should be kept in mind what is frequently overlooked: the Occupied Territories, even if they were put back into Palestinian control, constitute only about a quarter of the land that was Palestine before it began to be "partitioned" & annexed by Israeli Jews and their Western allies.

what can we do?

You can try to educate everyone you know (at least your friends) about the issues. You can inform your government representatives that you don't want your government to support the Israeli occupation and the associated crimes against the Palestinians.
