  • How could you think it's a penis? Artist said "seduction", which does not mean penis. Anything tall and cylindrical is not a penis. Radio man's agenda is to bring it down, saying the artists intention was to take the tax money and slap the tax payer in the face with a penis. If you think it is a penis you have a disgusting penis. Just because it's tactile does not mean it is a penis. As a public sculpture it has wonderful formal qualities of form, texture, color, line, volume, rhythm, shape.

  • Art? Whatever!! This is the second ugliest thing polluting Denver's streets. First is the hideous blue horse! Our tax dollars at work....

  • Its great man! This thing is hilarious. Denver Public Art is kicking ass! I love the big blue Demon Horse at DIA, and I think that this Big Red Diseased Penis is great too!

  • I agree. They really have no idea.

  • I caught that too on Conan's show during his monologue. Denver's "National Velvet" is starting to get some national attention.

  • This was on the Conan O'Brien show last night.

  • Ugly! Can't believe Denver paid $50K! Looks like a grouping of saggy titties piled to form an ugly penis.

  • One of the best sculptures in Denver! Period.

Never even crossed my mind to compare it to "penis" until these radio comments! Even if you see phallic symbolism so what? Let me quote:

"Strong traditions of phallic art are evident throughout Egypt, Greece, India, and Northern Europe. A wide range of art, myths, and cultural customs have been central to phallic symbolism, dating at least as far back as the Neolithic era, about 8000 B.C."

Educate yourself - ignorance isn't bliss!!!

  • Controversy is great for the artist. KHOW, keep it up! Let's just all be thankful that it's not another big blue horse with red eyes. Now that's lame!

  • Biggest Dick in Denver? LOL! Are you suggesting that Dan Caplis.... um... nevermind.
