Great review, I bought the black version of this today for my little JVC HD Camcorder, I had been looking at these last month and really liked the way the head works. I do have heavy duty tripods that i've used in the past with big heavy VHS Camera's but my tiny little camera is smaller than the mounting plate on them and looks silly..LOL. Time will tell how I get on with it but so far all seems well, it's very light and easy to carry around.

Sir, I've a nikon D5100 and i'm in-need of a compact tripod..... i'm ready to spend $150-170 (tripod + Ball head) for it..... Is there a better option for me.......

@gear10101 Hi there are lots of compact tripods available, however not all are suitable for dslr's especially with anything more than the kit lens. the mkc3 will hold a dslr with kit lens but you may need to be looking at a tripod which will take a 2 -3 Kg payload. Giotto and manfroto (sister companies) have a good range just look at the configurator on their site to work out the exact one which would meet your needs, or search on amazon and look at payloads to reach your choice.
