I tried to save a cicada from my hound once but he ate it. It was a male cicada too (the males make that loud noise). He ate it just so I couldn't have it. What is it with hounds and cicadas?

My Basset likes to kill bugs too....he won't eat them though. He just snaps at them and spits them out. lol I call my Basset the" fly catcher " when we are outside.

BAHAHAHAHA that was fantastic! brings back memories of our bassett Zoe. she lived to almost 13 (was a couple days short of her birthday) and she found a fly once. she tried to put in her mouth but freaked out when it flew around in her mouth and she spat it out, spazzed out in our living room, whipped around and tried again. ah, bassetts and bugs haha XD
