The family gets together this Christmas to learn Pasteles from our Matriarch, Nereida. In her tradition that comes from her parents that came to NY in the late 1940s Neraida is teaching the 2nd generation women in her family to make Pasteles like her parents made them for several decades before age and illness took over their bodies...but they praised our Lord, Jesus till the day they died.

  • Thank you so much ,, YOU guys HELPED me so much.. Your video made me tear up , was thinking about my family when my Mom and dad were living . Merry Christmas to you all. Again, thanks for making this Video.

  • We can thank you enough for sharing, your family with the rest of us. Que Dios los bendigas.

  • Even though I was looking for an example of pasteles being wrapped in banana leaves for my Filipino/Australian friends, I kept watching it because it brought back so many beautiful memories of my Mom, Aunt and my Dad making pasteles together. I was a kid and all I knew was that it was hard to make and it took a long time. lol You guys are an example of the WHY, as a Puerto Rican, I don't like living alone. I love the love that is shared everyday with the familia. God bless. xox
