other languages spoken are French(there is a French institute in Budapest)German,(remember when it was"Austria-Hungary on the old maps,they speak German in Austria),Turkish(there was a long time when Hungary was conquered and ruled by Turks and there was much Turkish influence on the culture and many Turkish people and restaurants can still be found there today,Czech(the Czech Republic is not too far away),Croatian(also not too far,many Hungarians enjoy vacationing in Croatia)
