We love this fresh, full-of-life raw food salad. :-)
Pomegranates are in season in the southwest and we had some amazing ones at Grace Grove in Sedona with our friends Morgan and Puma! (Thanks guys!)
Take a look and enjoy...
@Stan7757 - probably because though diet is a significant factor, it is only one of many interweaving ones. Have you watched the TED talk on how to live to 100+? Other factors Dan sites are; strong community spirit, staying mobile, having a purpose etc. There was supposedly an experiment done where rabbits were fed junk food. Most rabbits experienced multiple health problems. Yet, one group stood out. Fed the same food but given much love and affection by the med student caring for them.

Why don't you see any very long living raw food people? Why do the people in Okinawa live to be 90 and 100, but do very little raw food?

Made this recipe for a raw potluck and it was a success! Interesting to use Fennel and the pomegranates. Any other use for the tops of the fennel. I try to add a new vegetable each week and love exploring new recipies. Someone also suggested to use the garnish from this recipe to roll into romain lettuce leaves or the larger argula leaves. Question, can you freeze pomegranite seeds?

Someone else had a vid where the cut open the pomegranate and then hit it and the seeds fall out

yeah, i get my pomegranates from the mexican style fruit stands down here in south texas for about 25 cents each! Those stands are the main thing keeping the cost of being raw down! =D
Thanksgiving I'll be at a resort with family and since I've always been the cook of all thanksgiving meals... *cackles evilly* everyone will be in for a raw surprise! =^-^=

Persephone ate a pomegrate. I don't remember the symbolism of the fruit., but the story explains summer/winter because Persephone was somehow resposible for the soil fertility and she was forced to live in the underworld for half of the year.
