A POU video discussing the application and limitations of heavy rifle plate armor. Lots of times dudes are not in touch with the realities or "armoring" up. Carrying about 16 lbs of rifle plate armor with act like an anchor to your mobility and fatigue you quicker. Often your service/agency will specify a mandatory body armor application that you will have to live with. But if you have the choice, careful consideration should be given to your mobility when carrying the current rifle plate technologies. Perhaps, as discussed here, you'd be better off with a Level III soft armor system for pistol rounds. In more static defensive or vehicle operations, hard armor is more do-able. Firepower vs Mobility baby...you make the choice! ///////////// Note: When discussing Diamondback Tactical I make mention of how they sell their armor to only bona fide military or LE customers. The viewer should not construe this as me not endorsing the availability of armor applications to the responsible civilian. It's just a support for how DBT sells their products.

  • I don't understand why they shouldn't be able to sell to regular civilians? If regular law-abiding citizens can own guns we should also be able to own body armor. Strong double standard.

  • "Nor should they"? Why the fuck is that?

  • wish i saw this back in 2008, woulda saved me alota researching and reading stuff through google back in da day

  • @Lily24711 It saved my buddy's Son from 2 center mass AK hits at less than 100 yards.....The guy beside him was not so lucky (at least he he did live). The plates are too heavy so our boys don't ware them. Do you have a link to the tests?

    Thanks so much

  • @Smokin07ram Dragon Skin has a lot of problems in it because of its design. testing has shown defects from the manufacturing that completely fail the plates. we still have plenty of time to fix the problems. it took hundreds of years to get plate armor functioning properly for knights and men at arms to deflect arrows. only time will tell.

  • Every citizen should be able to buy any kind of body armor.

Bad guys own them just like they own illegal guns, even in countries where civilians cant own guns criminals have full auto guns and armor.

The restriction to civilians doesnt stop bad guys form getting armor.

  • Any thoughts on Dragon skin?

Seem like a fairly lightweight (expensive ) rifle plate option?

    Thanks

  • @MattsMisc Why do regular law abiding citizens(for the most part) require body armour though, Rabbits over here don't shoot back, afaik.

  • @JisforJenkem I would like to know to...

  • lol at 7:00

  • @JisforJenkem You can keep looking like a moron using unnecessary words all you want. ;)

  • @Kylef7735 You keep being proper and I will keep being effective.
