Here's a build that I built for the daughter of client...I'm not an electric kinda guy, but this is still a sweet little axe and can really scream the blues especially if you're rockin the slide.

  • What type of fretboard material did you use? I'm looking for a cheap, easy to find material to make a fretboard out of. So far, I've got plywood as an option, and getting rosewood or ebony is expensive and hard to get. Any alternatives? (making 6 string, so it needs a truss rod so I can't just put frets on the neck) Thanks.

This guitar used Macassar Ebony but it was a special project.

typically I used plain red oak..I make all my necks 1.5 inches wide...I like the size and you can find red oak 1/4 inch thick pre-cut at 1.5 inches at HomeDepot in lengths. It's been a long time since I've done anything but I can tell you that its very inexpensive...not to mention, I like the grain patterns.

  • DGBE....pretty standard for this type
