UPDATE: I found out what it is: Red Foxes! Noisy little buggers!

(To my subscribers: I know this is really random, and not like my usual videos, I just wanted to share this, and see if anyone could shed some light on the freakiness)

  • Umm, yeah, I just moved to St. Paul, MN, and this keeps waking me up between 1 and 4 am also. My first thought was oppossums, then demons, but now I'm really hoping it's raccoons. My giant, fearless, rough-and-tough dog actually huddles next to me on the bed, instead of investigating or even barking. If you find out what it is (I've been investigating misc. animal noises online all morning), please post it! :-)

  • @mephil79 - I actually just found out what it is: red foxes. Apparently they are at their worst during the spring because it's mating season, and I live about a half block away from some very dense brush area as well as farmland, and there are many foxes in the area.

It's funny that such a creepy noise comes from such a pretty animal! lol

  • @TheMonaLisaCloud, @RockTheNPC, @Lillian0813,

If you turn it up and listen closely, there's really on one "voice" screeching, which makes me think that the fight was pretty one-sided.

When my husband woke up this morning, I showed this to him, and the consensus we've come up with is that it sounds like a raccoon being attacked/eaten. There are several coyotes in our area, so yeah... :( Poor critter.

  • It could be a barn owl, or multiple barn owls. I had heard similar noises for years assuming it was foxes, then one night managed to see the source was actually an owl far up in a tree.

  • Definately BIGFOOT

  • it is definitely a fox-----i seen one at the cabin in mountains and then heard the noise----if you google noises foxs make----there is a site that has audio that lets you hear all the noises they make------definitely a fox

  • Monalisa must not live in the country if she were close to being correct at all that would mean the racoon it being "attaced/eaten" several nights in a row. Ya that make a lot of since right. just to let you know there are several animals that make that sound kinda anything from red or GRAY fox house cats bob cats the list goes on and on my advice to you would be if it is in the spring mating season trun a fan or a radio on at night to muff. the sound out.

  • Its a fox screaming

  • It isn't red foxes it's raccons fighting

  • Just saw ur this vid and wanted to tell you IT'S FOXES! RELAX! But you already know! I had a similiar experience. So scary!

  • raccoons, just heard one last night, then family went outside to search for it and found it in a tree. it was really pissed off

  • Thanks for posting this video. I am hearing the same thing outside my house tonight and I was searching online to see what it is when I came upon this video.

  • That's exactly my reaction. Only, I didn't have the luxury of being indoors. It was 5:45 ish AM and I took my two dogs out and all of a sudden this screaking begins RIGHT in the neighbours yard which is practicly beside us. I've never heard anything like this before and it scared me so bad because I was afraid it would attack my dogs (they're only about 10lbs each). I don't think my fiance believed me until he heard it too.
