@merglino BENNY (its spelled with 2 N's) actually refers to the counties/cities people come from to the jersey shore: Burlington, Elizabeth, Newark & New York. You can recognize these people on the beach b/c they usually are wearing jeans and ginny-T's.
Everything rugged 74 wrote is correct. The car is on Jersey Avenue, as it crosses Third Avenue then Fourth Avenue. Locally the section of Third Avenue and cross streets with businesses is referred to as "Town."
* You should check out the Spring Lake Historical Society video.
That's Spring Lake. Your traveling West across 3rd avenue.
I spent Summers there as a kid in the 80's.
Where you crossed 3rd, that used to be a restaurant called Dale's (on your right). The place across the street from it (with the true value sign) was the old "Variety Store" 5 and 10.
It's a very beautiful "Irish" town. Green and white are the town colors. Living in the Midwest now, it's nice to be able to see these memories online. Thanks for posting!
