On September 3rd, 2011, sea kayaker and primitive living skills expert Phoxx Ekcs set out on a 120 mile journey kayaking and hiking along Vancouver Island's rugged North Coast. Equipped with only primitive gear, he suffered through hunger, dehydration, and multiple injuries, and barely survived hypothermia. After 28 days in the wilderness, he returned to tell his story.

This is part 4 of a 4 part series.

  • Wow! What an amazing intense adventure/journey. Inspiring to hear the lessons he came away with from pushing his body right to the edge. A real flirt with death. Crazy and stupid? Well if your aim is to stay safe, alive, comfortable and healthy- for sure! But then that wasn't what it was about.Phoxx seemed pretty at peace with his own possible death a few times, so avoiding death wasn't really his exploration. It was a testing of his mental limits. And surprise- he survived! That is worthy. Thanks
