Congress leader Rahul Gandhi with Bill Gates in Amethi 11th may 2010

Amethi(Uttar Pradesh):11 May 2010,AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi was accompanied by Microsoft chairman Bill Gates,as they came together to pay a visit to Amethi on Tuesday.In Amethi , they had an interactive session with the Women self help groups(trained and assisted under Rajiv Gandhi Mahila Vikas Pariyojna) in Jais, Amethi.
Bill gates in conversation with the women self help groups, trained under RGMVP(Rajiv Gandhi Mahila Vikas Pariyojana) ,emphasised upon the need to provide computer education to their Children. In reply, the women groups not only supported his thoughts but also brought an interesting similarity between their self help group and Bill Gates's organization. "Yours and Our goal is the same in some ways. Like your organization we also spread awareness and try to fight against poverty" said Rajkali ,a worker. The locals were really thankful to their 'Rahul Bhaiya' to have provided them an oppurtunity to interact with Bill Gates.Later the duo visited Sanjay Gandhi hospital where they met the patients at Indira Gandhi eye hospital and took a note of the facilities in the hospital.After a brief rest, Bill Gates was then accompanied by Rahul Gandhi as they headed towards a school children eye check up camp organised by RGMVP at Shahgarh.

Later as the day came to an end, after a briefmeeting with women self help groups in shahgarh , Bill Gates and Rahul Gandhi spend the night,resting for few hours in munshigunj rest house.
