her live versions are the best

@Astrodust3 There is no arguing Eva's talent. Her emotive readings of many, many songs are a matter of fact but sometimes less is more in terms of interpreting the emotional weight of a particular song. When you are recording a song like this one that you expect the listener to play over and over again sometimes you want the delivery to be simple and heartfelt without being overwrought with emotion. It's easier to take forty listens in. More about the song and less about the singer.

Eva's song is the place I call safe heaven. I always go there when I become sad and vulnerable. Love you, Eva

I can't believe anyone could dislike this angelic music. Eva Cassidy, thank you for being, excisting, for everything. Your music will forever be in our hearts and I will keep introducing you and your music to all my friends and family for as long as I possibly can. May you forever rest in peace.

@ Sozzle69
First off, you being such a huge Fleetwood Mac fan should know Songbird was sung by Christine McVie, not Stevie NIcks. I am a fan of Fleetwood Mac as well but it's impossible to compare with Eva. Eva had awesome phrasing and was technically better. If someone had just heard both versions for the first time they would think Christine's was a bad karaoke version of Eva's. We attach ourselves to old songs because they have a place in our memories. Eva was just too good.
