About mindfulness:
Mindfulness (also translated as awareness) originated from Buddhist meditation and is, among other things, is an attentive awareness of the reality of things, especially of the present moment.
The course is a practice towards establishing mindfulness in one's day-to-day life maintaining as much as possible a calm awareness of one's bodily functions, sensations (feelings), objects of consciousness (thoughts and perceptions), and consciousness itself.
Mindfulness practice may also be employed to alleviate a variety of mental and physical conditions, including pain, excessive stress, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety, and in the prevention of relapse in depression and addictions.
Participants in mindfulness courses have reported many benefits including:
Increased ability to relax.
Pain reduction.
Improved overall health and well-being.
Increased ability to cope with stressful situations.
Greater sense of compassion and appreciation of life.
Please feel free to contact the school with any questions you may have regarding the practice or future courses if you are unable to attend the upcoming one.
