Excellent playing! I can't decide between the mandolin and the mandola. Which is better for medieval music?
palmroyal - it is a Mandolin with an "A" style body

brendan - Now I'm not a musician or anything, I just goof around on the Mando and Uke, but I don't find it all that hard to play. I have not taken any formal lessons, although I really should. I want to play a bit more bluegrass and feel I will need some lessons for that.
That particular piece I learned from the book Medieval Music for Mandolin by Allan Alexander. He has published several titles and they all include the TABs as well as the sheet music and a CD so it makes it quite easy to learn

MrUkeDave - thanks, I really like his books.
CubeableGame - probably the mandola or an octave mandolin but there is nothing wrong with just a plane ole mando. If you are playing more medieval or celtic stuff then I would suggest a more celtic flat-top mandolin or mandola/octave
