North Penn High School 2007 - Second Suite in F part II - IV

The North Penn High School Wind Ensemble performs "Second Suite in F", by Gustov Holst. This video is Parts II, III, and IV (called "Song Without Words", "Song of the Blacksmith". and "Fantasia on the Dargason" respectively) of four parts.

Under the direction of Bryan Clayton, the Wind Ensemble performed as part of the North Penn High School 2007 Winter Concert on the evening of December 17, 2007 in the North Penn High School Auditorium, Lansdale, PA.

Once again, thanks to all the Guys & Gals of the North Penn High School music ensembles for a fantastic evening of Holiday entertainment!

This video was taken from the balcony of the auditorium with a digital still camera (fixed frame). I also used a camcorder (pan and zoom) and hope to post that video at a later date.

In an older version of this suite, the clarinet solo was an oboe solo. This is a nicely played version. Not bad for a high school.

lol, i luv Dargason too. Played in 8th grade, and im a tuba ;) Luv the solo with the flute at the end

I love Dargason, we're playing it this year and it's pretty hard... I play bari and have to transpose from tube which I HATE haha but nice job, it's going to sound interesting for my band because we have like 70 people? for marching it's 96 so I have no idea what we're at for concert but focus is hard and I have to give you props for that

we're playing the second suit in my highschool right now...I'm a little scared, because I'm learning to play the bassoon this year, and it's such a hard peice to be playing with a new istument...

You guys did really good on the second movement. When my school played it the tubas messed up the last measure...I was so upset, but we'd already had a rough year to begin with. You did great even though the third movement was super fast. LOL. I wish things would have went that smoothly for my school.

wow, north penn!!! haven't heard u guys play since 99-00. still sounding good i c. song of the blacksmith was faaaassssst. lol. anyway loved fantasia on the dargason, my favorite movement. was a lil bothered by the euphonium solo in last movement, but overall great job
