Ok... im rambling... haha
But i really do feel that if you can be soft, its not fair that everyone gets thrown under the boat for using a bit. But do not believe what i wrote, because you and your horse truly show me that it is possible to control your horse witout being dominating! Thank you... i should have watched this before i made that comment... again i apologize

Why are you people judging racing? Have you ever been in the business? Race horses get treated like kings and queens for the most part. But hey, it goes both ways, some riding horses aren't treated well, some racing horses aren't. I have racing horses and their spoiled to death. So think what you want about race horses, they love their job!

I couldn't imagine the relief he must feel, knowing that when a person gets on his back, it won't mean excruciating pain anymore. No wonder he was a problem horse, with all the regular abuse that goes on in race horses and other equine sports. Good for you for giving a second chance to experience a relationship with humans that doesn't involve pain.

my exracehorse love his bit, he goes better just in a headcollor and two leadropes but my mum wont let me ride bitless too much! i really wish the other exracer in our yard could be riden in a bitless though because i really notice a difference in his behaviour of then you lead him in his headcollor hes perfect, but as soon as you put the bridle on hes throwing his head, hes strong and just really unhappy! he also feels really hard mouthed to ride, but tries his best!

Thank you for demonstrating to that a bit is not necessary for riding a horse. Horses' have served 'man-kind' & provided that -- which cannot be priced.
Yet, the reward for many horses is a horrifying road trip to slaughter where unspeakable things happen to them.
A horse is polite, incapable of lies, fair, & expects the same in turn. When will 'man-kind' appreciate them & stop the madness.

How did you do it? I would like more info on how you accomplished that as I know some who have purchased some ex-racehorses that I believe are very misunderstood and I'd like a starting point on how to transition them into building a relationship

awesome! I am doing the same thing with my Bobby, 6yo ex-racer T/b - he was doomed after an accident , and I adopted him from a lady who took pity on him wasting away in a trainer's paddock, soon to be taken to the 'works' - no one wanted a ''nasty'' Tb with screws in his canon bone! and now we are riding on the road side, bit-less and barefoot, and he just completes me - my 1st horse too! how's that for a challenge to the traditional mindsets of the equine sports world? see vids on my profile
It takes a big person to admit there are other ways to do things, I pleased and madeup that you see there are options, welldone to you, it shows you not just a number, you have a voice of your own and dont just follow the croud, you obviously have great feeling for all horse's welfare, thankyou again for your comment.

Thank you for your comment, please dont think I'm condeming you for using a bit, I'm trying to provoke thought, and an awareness of bit abuse, I would like it if everyone could and would just think about it and do as much reserch into the subject of riding bitless, even if its just to be sure that its not the way for them, Miller the horse in the video when we got him would have not been the right candidate for bitless, truthfully when we got him but now hes never rode bitted,

You must have worked so hard. Ex racers can be the hardest horses to work with because of what they've been through. They can often proove to be the best horses, once people see through the bolting and pulling. Its not their fault. Racing should be banned. Its disgusting that people should make animals race like that for entertainment and GAMBLING! The damage thats done to some horses
Its great to see that you've been kind enough tp take on one of these damaged and given it a better life. Thanks
