@LordHannigan - Also Hannibal had plans to Conquer Rome itself but chose not to, against the wishes of his Lieutenant 'Marhabal'. Alexander the Great has designs on conquering Rome and he would have, but he died young. And last but not least Brennus the Celt leader in 390 annhilated a Roman army at the battle of Alia, ransacked the city took all the loot he wanted and then buggered off with his tribe. All this allowed Rome to exist and become an Empire - no wonder they were bitter.

@LordHannigan - That's why the Romans destroyed Carthage. Because dead people or subjugated Peoples tell no tales. We don't know nearly enough about Carthiginian society, because some asshole called Cato kept saying "Carthago delenda est" or Carthage has to be destroyed. And the prick managed to pursuade the senate and it happened.

@LordHannigan - The Celts were far more humane and civilised than the Romans in their behaviour, at least before Christianity, women had rights and they weren't into incest like the Romans.
During the Early Roman Empire though, the Roman were far superior militarily, archetecturally (spelt wrong I bet) - so that is why they gained control. And the victors get to write the history, often embellished or sometimes just plain Bullshit.

yea im from ireland and its just comming light to me that christanity covers our old history if u look closely u can see it overlappin the old pagan history! i abandoned christanity and living a more peaceful life in pagan thoughts and understanding the seasons and our way of life!

Quite confusing. The true church of Christ in England has been perverted since King Henry the 8th and those perversions remain existence to date. The atrocities now taking place in England, very much hurting the most precious heart of Jesus in His great love for the sick, the weak and all of the poor are of high concern to any true Christian who has alive within them, the most precious and merciful heart (and wisdom) of our Lord Jesus Christ in His Passion for all humanity.
