Somewhere there exists a musical genius of 8 or 10 years old. He lives in a culture where music is defined as Britney Spears. Hopefully, someone along the way will realize the importance of that young, musical genius and steer them towards music of substance, from which to derive inspiration. When that happens, the young genius will wonder why 'music' up till then had been defined as Justin Bieber and who was responsible for telling this lie. When that moment comes, society owes him an apology.

Wonderful piece of music. I wish there were more of this collaboration today, but c'est la vie. For all music fans out there, no one individual carries this tune, it's the parts that make the whole. Same is true for any good piece of music. Something catches the mind of the listender in any good piece and we just blossom internally. Enjoy.

@comicguitar - I grew up on Jazz and never abandond it - well ecept maybe in the late 80s and 90s when those smooth jazz muscians came along - that was a disappointing phase in Jazz (Kenny G and similiar)! These guys (Weather Report) helped break the mold of acoustic jazz, along with Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock to name but a handful. Joe Zawinul and Jaco Pastorius were masters. Sad for Jaco the short life he had though and I miss Joe's creativity he brought to the keyboard.

Why are everyone being such elitistic douchebags about music? Just because the young audience listens to Bieber, Britney Spears, Rihanna or whatever, doesn´t mean you have to listen to it. Many of these kids are 6-13, you cant expect them to know about Jazz fusion, or any other band before their time. When you were their age, you most likely listened to pop music. As did I, and I cherish that music for being a part of my childhood, I´m 21 now, and listens to various sorts of music, so will they.

@LandonInFlorida If he's a musical genius then he will know the difference. Only people with no taste would think that is good music. Do you really think it's possible for a true musical genius to think that? That's pretty ignorant thing to say. You act like good music only can exist back whenever you felt it did.

A lyric from Bill Shatner's and Ben Folds track I Can't get Behind That:

Weather Report's catalog among many others represents a time when the Music Biz was about music, not accountants and lawyers. Labels are dead!
