I think Antonacci played this role INCREDIBLY! :D And Kauffmann was perfectly casted also. Not to mention D'arcangelo was just PERFECT for the role of Escamillo.

@sea1song: Her acting is way over the top for me as well. Yes Carmen is supposed to be sexy, seductive etc but this is too much. I didn't like her other scenes either.

@bugstomper123 I can only ope you are right. I still think it's unecessary. It's obvious he is taken by her, one only has to look at his face. I think she would be much better if she sometimes played with a hidden seductiveness. It's all a bit too open for me. I never thought of Carmen as loose, she's just decisive and free.

@47viviane I agree with you totally. I think her portrayal is totally over the top. Days later, I am still trying to figure out the rope business. I found it all a bit unrealistic and unbelievable.
