Liszt was a great arranger of other composers' music, but not a great composer himself - too many notes - not enough melody.

So passionate, sincere and poetic!

The woman is a fantastic composer .she aske really relevant questions about the nature of music. How is meaning conveyed in music. What is non-musical.Wht lies outside the domains. Can music do wht other systems of communic or thougth can not.what are its inherents qualities.Linguistics is so necessary!

She has recomposed this, in what they used to call poetic license. I move the little dial ahead to 2:38 and enjoy it very much, thanks. Inspired.

Underneath her angelic face and "delicate" hands is an incredible piano virtuoso, who has just as much power and clarity as Kissin. But she also has amazing sensitivity that Kissin doesn't have. BTW, both were prodigies.
If you want to hear the best Schumann Symphonic Etudes ever, you can hear her do them on youtube also.

Here in Europe she is rather famous as a composer. Didn't know that she also can play piano. Nowadays this is a rare capability for contemporary composers.

Superlative! She truly understands Liszt. Her obvious intelligence doesn't hurt. How many people playing today understand the piece this well? Kissin has a far superior technique, of course, but I wish he had some of her artistic insight.
Although the Liszt sonata is not a great favourite of mine, this video is most impressive because of the incredible technical command she has - if this was the rehearsal, how good must the concert have been! When was this filmed?
