(lyrics below)
This is a joke song Debbie and I wrote for my father about his obsession with getting his 5.O. liter Mustang as light as possible so it would do a wheelie. It's set to some video I took at New England Dragway.
Lyrics:
(chorus) Oh 5.0 don't you know
Oh 5.0 don't you know
You just gotta get those front wheels up and go
Filled you with super, took you down to the track
put tires with no tread on the back, after this I know my son won't give me no flack.
Did the burnout then I tripped the lights, then I popped the clutch but, something wasn't right.
It felt like the whole front end was glued down tight.
(chorus)
I got you home then I scratched my head, my son was laughing and my face got red. He said it looked like those front wheels were filled with lead.
So I got thinking, you know I'm sly as a fox, I'll put the motor in a cookie box. Paint it up just right so my son will think it's stock.
(chorus)
So that next Friday, we were down at the strip, my son was still laughing at my last time slip. But I know this little pony could do a flip.
I chose my lane, burned out with style, my son was watching with an arrogant smile. But I rode a wheelie right down that quarter mile.
Oh 5.0 you did me proud, oh 5.0 you did me proud, now my son ain't laughing quite so loud.

Awesome. And tell Lois it could only be a fantasy if it was about a Camero.
