@MoebiusTripper Erroll doesnt think about it when he is slamming ! he just feels - and its not possible to review his style, cause he played every time different - if you want so slam- so you can slam like Michael Jordan just do it - but dont break the Piano ! :-) Nice greetings from erroll - he is sitting with me on my couch - few weeks ago i had a dream - was sitting and playing with him in his concert - really ! very nice dream ! now he is a very nice friend!

Erroll Garner used to "slam" down a chord in his left hand after about six or seven chords played without a slammed chord...Hyman is not doing that...Why I wonder?

As I understand it, Errol Garner was not a trained musician and couldn't read music but as this video and wonderful analysis by Dick Hyman illustrates, there was that much technical sophistication in his playing.
Those weren't fingers on the keyboards, they were a team of arrangers. Thanks greatly for putting this on for everyone.
