In the final cut, the fire scene is temp tracked with Danny Elfman's music from the first movie's fire scene. I'll never repeat it enough: it made no sense since in the first movie, Spider-Man was saving the kid while here, it's a "powerless" Peter who does. Elfman's original score for the scene brings way more tension and uncertainty, as Peter is taking a huge risk entering the crumbling building.
Peter's Turmoil was also rejected, John Debney writing a very classic "Cake Girl" instead. Again, Elfman's ability to suit to the images is brilliant, giving at the end an almost comical yet very touching moment that musically comforts Peter.

  • So you agree with Sam Ramimi? I would rather Elfman than anyone else, because of his ability to match the music perfectly with each scene of a movie

  • Actually, I agree. Topher Grace managed well as Brock, but Raimi RUINED Venom. Way too little screentime to develope Venom, and even Brock, as a character, or just to show him off. Venom didn't look as any Venom you'd ever seen, and he didn't act like Venom (I blame the writing, not Topher). Venom would NEVER let anybody else kill Spider-Man when he could do it himself. And that's only one out of thousands of points. With so little time on the screen, they shouldn't have finished him off.

  • @JudgeJudas Raimi never wanted venom or the black suit, It's called producers wanting to shove everything they can into a movie to get money. :P

  • Spider Man 2 was the best of this series. I hope Andrew Garfield's will be better.

  • As good as this is, and as much as I love my favorite composer Danny Elfman, I must admit that the music heard in the theatrical cut of "Spider-Man 2" is the best. Plus, I loved what John Debney did with the "Cake Girl" score, though regretably it's not on the soundtrack or able to find anywhere. That said, I wish Danny Elfman hadn't had his creative differences with Sam Raimi and did the score for "Spider-Man 3". Christopher Young is good. Danny Elfman is better. 'Nuff said.

  • spiderman has been around for decades, there are a thousand stories involving him in the marvel universe, Venom is a blip on the radar that doesn't matter, the costume ON peter parker did matter...and Sam tackled that in the film. Brock should have had NO air time and venom as a bad guy shouldn't have been there at all...if you're gonna do a sinister six, just do it, not this hodge podge of a mess called spiderman 3

  • Ill totally second that.

  • Ull die without a fucking taste in movies.

  • Go fuck yourself you close minded bastard.

  • This was always the most apparent to me in the film, I wondered why it was the same thing again. Horrible choice.

  • i agree with cypresspuz, he fcked it up
