feal sorry for the intercity 47

3:47 reminds me a lot of the old footbridge at Porth, Rhondda (South Wales). You can see on top of the handrail the remnants of the brackets that held up the bridge canopy struts. The struts were crudely cut off with a blowtorch, with about 6 inches of scorched bracket just left poking up - nice work.

@sparky30368 There's a chance that they will be preserved, but I don't know who owns what here, or whether any money-gathering schemes exist to help save the engines.

Typical of most 'scrap' dealers, they know the price of everything ...but the value of nothing
shame.

I guess these loco's will go for scrap, anyone know if 47 484 be saved and running in a few years time..?

That rivetted tanker looked interesting. No doubt someone can identify the origin of the tender frames.
Was this yard also a repository for people who've bought stuff they can't store at a preservation venue. That Austerity on the low-loader looked like they could light her up and do a spot of shunting.
A very interesting mixture of items & I hope that wooden coach survives.
Did it end up as a Departmental Mess coach & tool store?

@NJPurling Good questions. This was my first visit to the yard at Wishaw, and I just don't know the answers. There were other engines in the shed receiving attention, as with the Austerity they had been sent for repair/overhaul. As you speculate it seems that other stock is 'out-stored' here, but who owns it and whether it will survive I can't say...
