Maybe this made it too attractive as when the lease was violated it was a fully functional independent community that would be the envy of most other Reserves. Last time I was by there, in 2001, I had to record the red haired, blue eyed warrior guarding the gate :)

@RCAC2836 If I remember my Ipperwash history, the land the base was on was leased during WWII and the residents (48?) were moved to the Kettle Point Reserve. I think the lease was renewed last around the late 1980's. It had been allowed to fall into disrepair on the assumption the lease would not be renewed. When it was, renovations were made, including a water treatment plant, to serve the DND for another few decades.

and if you REALLY pay attention to the history of the EARTH (not just North American history in the last few hundred years) see then who was here first/where they descended from... I'm not wasting any more breath on you idiots b/c you just stick to the same topic/believe what you want to believe.. White men weren't here first I'm not saying that... But way more than a few hundred years ago, YOU WEREN'T EITHER! read a book dammit. everyone has buried ancestors we could bitch and complain about

geeyznucka don't be talking about my Homeland like that, Natives were here long before The White people come to Canada, The Write man stole that land from my people I have Stony Point Blood running through my vine I am A Stoney Pointer and my mom is the Chief of Kettle & Stoney Point. And Dudley Was a good friend of her's.

p.s. the grammar on those signs in this video are terrible.. Or are we blaming that on the fact that ENGLISH isn't your native tongue too.. Just like taking care of property/having respect for yourselves isn't one of your favourite pastimes...

and a stupid cadets camp in the summer is better than a stupid vehicle dump/closed down camp that is littered with CHEAP SMOKES signs and FISH FOR SALE signs that they clearly overfish out of the lake... haha, that's not even GOOD real fish.. No ones even allowed in there really, so yeah, it would have been better off economically AND environmentally if it was being USED and not just littered... you're fuckin dumb dude...
Though Why did this had to happen in 1993 when we could have settled some peace talks between the Gov't of canada and the Natives?

That is a question you must pose to your Government, not me. It is not my doing, I merely photograph, or video things, places, events.

Sorry, I will refrain, I wish to remain somewhat private, pardon the pun. Have a nice day. Too many threats to us for being "Indian Lovers" No thanks. I will refrain due to threats upon my life.

I am an Army cadet from Edmonton AB, and Ipperwash wssnt the only camp that was taken, in 1998 a politician named Sheila copps took the Banff NACSTC away for no god damn reason. all thats left is an empty field. And it was by far the Jewel of all cadet camps.

This was Territory taken under the WMA, it was to be returned after the second world war, knowing how well our Governments keep their word, we were left to see the Native peoples seize back their land taken for war.
