Heres another video of my Sensotronic system 50 complete with its Electro-Kinetic powerhead, this was the TOL Sensotronic from 1985 with a remote hose, electronic variable power, boost button, Automatic mode, electronic suction sensor and a 1000watt motor. Its the vacuum version of Knightrider! its full of gadgets. The Electro-kinetic head is great, its one of the few cylinder powerheads with beater bars as well as brushes. The brushroll is similar to that on a Hoover Junior, but coupled with the powerful suction, it does a fantastic job and really cleans deep down.

These were great vacuums - very powerful and quiet, But they weigh a ton. I've had mine a few years now, originally I found it minus its powerhead and soaking wet in the rain, but after it had dried out it ran fine and still does. One of my favourite vacuums and i'd never part with it.

  • I found my Hoover Spirit canister behind a friends shed that had been sitting out for years...full of water also. After drying out for a day it's been going strong for about a year now!

  • There was a version of the Hoover Freedom cylinder cleaner in brown and cream which had a electro kinetic head.

  • @U5096 please upload a video of the beater in action in better sound quality if possible

  • its very similar

  • @U5096 did the beater on this vacuum have the exact same noise as in he video I sent you of the 1981 Hoover vac

  • Hoover vacuums are different in the USA to the ones over here in the UK so not sure what that model could have been, to my knowledge we've never had a model over here with a powerhead with a headlight

  • @U5096 I remember my family had a vacuum from hoover which was similar to this one except the beater had a light that would come on when it was activated

  • Yup, I have the S7280, my Granny has a Sebo Felix and the S7 is miles better.
