Profound, yet simple, thanks a lot, Fr. Richard Neuhaus!

@tskot You clearly did not listen to this video if that is your conclusion. :)

@aeroldoth Wow. Stupid post is stupid. Go back to 1st grade and learn how to debate, moron. Your argument is along the lines of "A black man committed a crime, therefore all black men commit crimes".
Idiot.

Thank you for that brilliant rebuttal.

I don't know how Catholics view it, but as a non-Catholic, I don't believe ANYTHING the Church says. I wouldn't believe them if they said water was wet.
Your example of the thousands of children molested, raped, and tortured is just one example of the many evils the Church is guilty of. No, I don't look to the Church for advice on how to even tie my shoes.

I don't think people can take the Catholic viewpoint of "manliness" seriously in light of the revelations about worldwide child abuse of children (mostly boys) by Catholic clergy. There is nothing manly either in the abuse or the cowardly transfer of abusing priests from parish to parish by bishops and cardinals thus allowing the abuse to continue unabated.
We are forgetting the true nature of masculinity, Fr. Neuhaus reminds us as part of the great new EWTN show, "The Road to Cana".

So you mean to tell me that, because of the conduct of a few bad priests, we are not to take the view of the many good priests seriously? And what has one's personal conduct to do with the validity of one's views? It seems that the Church's view on any given topic should be evaluated according to objective criteria.
