FIRE

"John, a non-initiated
ascetic, can impart to
his disciples no greater
wisdom than the mysteries
connected with the plane of
matter (water being a symbol
of it). His GNOSIS was that
of exoteric and ritualistic
dogma, of dead-letter orthodoxy;
while the wisdom which Jesus, an
Initiate of the higher mysteries,
would reveal to them, was of a
higher character, for it was the
'FIRE' Wisdom of the true gnosis
or the REAL SPIRITUAL enlightenment."
Blavatsky, The Secret
Doctrine, p. 566

The material quoted above
recounts the teachings of
an initiated Teacher of
high degree, whose interest
was only to set the feet of
his disciples on the Path
which he himself had
followed, the path
of an awakened
conscience.

Harmlessness is the expression
of a normal man who realizes
himself to be everywhere.
Harmlessness destroys all
limitations.

Harmlessness brings about the
ability to refrain from impulsive
and compulsive action, and the
demonstration of an impartial
inner life to all with eyes
to see and ears to hear.

In Matthew 3, John the Baptist
says:

"I indeed baptize you with
water unto repentance
[METANOIA - change of heart
and mind, a reformation of
life against the downward
stream]:

but he that cometh after
me is mightier than I,
whose shoes I am not
worthy to bear: he shall
baptize you with the Holy
Ghost, and with Fire."

Although Jesus was without
sin, He Himself came to John
to be baptized in the Jordan,
saying "it is fitting for us
to fulfill all righteousness."
Mat. 3:13-17.

" 'Yes . . . my dear friend,
if only the teaching of the
divine Jesus Christ had been
fully respected in its original
form, the religion founded upon
it with such unprecedented
wisdom would not only be
the best of all existing
religions, but even of
all religions that might
arise and exist in the
future."
