Video demonstration of how I was able to install a retail purchase of Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 and update to version 10.6.6 on an ASUS P7P55D.

I used iBoot 2.6 as a bootloader and MultiBeast 3.0.3 from tonymacx86.com in order to patch the installation.

I installed an ASUS ENGTX470 graphics card using the Official NVIDIA Quadro 4000 driver pkg version 256.

This video demonstration is tailored specifically to installing on my ASUS P7P55D, however it may act as a guide for anyone installing a retail purchase of Mac OS X Snow Leopard on any of the P7P55D series motherboards.

I have included ONLY the essential steps and installation choices to get OS X Snow Leopard running.

All credit goes to the tonymacx86 team for their continued effort and support.

  • can i run mac osx from a external harddisk?

  • @itouchhelper236 Yes but I don't suggest that you do.

  • please tell me that is not a bible

  • @jamesblesson Well you can see for yourself that it's a Miriam-Webster Disctonary if you pause the video. Even if it were a bible, who cares - it's just another book.

  • When I put in my disc, it says "Apple_HFS" instead of "Mac OSX Install DVD", I am certain this is the retail version since I bought it through the Apple Store following the link on the tonymacx86 guide. Do you have any clue as to why this is happening for me?

  • @YouAreTubetastic You sure your bios settings are correct? SATA set to AHCI?

  • @CreativeFXX Not really. It doesn't have to be my specific card. You'd have to research which cards work. Go to tonymacx86 and search the Wiki/graphics card database.

  • in order for me to install the graphic card i need the same graphic card u have
