HOW TO CELEBRATE TRADITIONAL SWEDISH "MIDSOMMARAFTON"
MID SUMMERS EVE

1- Tie a garland of flowers for your hair
2- Gather all your friends and loose folk to tie flowers on a mid-summers-pole "Midsommarstång".
3- Rise the pole so everybody can dance around it.
4- Get traditional old school live music for the dance around the pole.
5- Eat fresh potatoes and herring, and swallow it with brennvin.

  • Hehe Summer Solstice is the 25th of june 2010. It's a moving holiday that occurs friday between 19th and 25th of june every year.

  • Vodka??? I'm in. Book me a flight.

  • Thanx for all five star rankings! :)

  • Brennvin is like Vodka or Rum. :)

  • O.K. Sweeden,

Herring is tough enough but you're supposed to swallow it with what? That Brennvin you talk of better be wine, baby. M' just saying...

And congrats. Seems like a rather traditional, fun celebration.

  • hahahahaaha!
