The reason they talk to you is because when you are out with people you should be interacting with them, and not just listening to your crappy portable music player.

Actually, when I'm out and about with other people I don't have my music. But when I'm in class, or just chilling in the neighbourhood, this happens.

When you're in class you shouldnt have any music in. Its a matter of respect and listening to music doesnt help your grades.
