The fact that this song lost the 2009 Grammy for Best Rock Song to Bruce Springsteen's "Girls in Their Summer Clothes" should be a national disgrace. But then based on the Academy's track record, it shouldn't have been completely unexpected. It's too bad because not since the 60's has American rock music been so good, so varied, and so abundant. I think we'll definitely look back on this decade as a Golden Age for modern rock.
This video is so creative... and inspirational, and emotional. And the bassist is really creative. The band really adds dimension to his complicated bass riff. It's like Mozart squared.

It's really novice, especially when compared to bassists from bands like Tool, and Primus.
But it's a damn good song, and a really catchy bass line no doubt about it.
