All my degus ever want to do is run around. They refuse to sit still.  Does their age have anything to do with that? Mine are still pretty young.

Degus average age is a lot longer than for example hamster's. In Finland, the average age is 7 years, but they can live longer too. They can't eat sugar or fats, and as kaylajay422 already said, they are very social, so they never should be kept alone.

my degus bite me tell me how do u tell if they are girls or boys and how do u get to hold them when i want to pet them they bite me!!!!!!

Degus are Chilean squirrels. You'd see them running around in Chile the way you'd see squirrels running around in the US. They're very sweet little animals and they're very social.
