City Art Wedding

Visualize your next social event, wedding reception, or special occasion in an art gallery setting. City Art's sophisticated and warm atmosphere will make any event unique and memorable. And, our location in the heart of the historic Congaree Vista in Columbia is convenient to lodging and many other activities. Guests will enjoy antique galleries, specialty shops, unique restaurants, and lively nightlife in this bustling resurgent development area.

Weddings

City Art is a fabulous urban environment in Downtown Columbia SC. The atmosphere is warm and intimate while spacious and elegant, making it a perfect location for a timeless wedding event. Original contemporary artwork adorns the walls of this truly Southern historic building, and guests are free to wander and explore through three galleries filled with a vast variety of art for their viewing pleasure.

Twinkling white lights always adorn the trees beside the double door entry and fall gracefully the length of the antique elevator shaft. The antique square grand piano dating back to 1848 becomes the gift table for those last minute goodies brought to your reception. Our floors are maple plank hard wood and reportedly are "the best dance floor in Columbia." The Main Gallery is 2800 square feet of dancing heaven.

Decorations can be held to a minimum due to the lovely look of being amidst the art in the Gallery. A few floral arrangements and perhaps some palms create a charming wonderland. Our Approved Caterers always provide delicious fare and excellent party planning capabilities. Bands of all sizes and types have enjoyed playing at City Art. We also encourage keyboard, harp, violin quartet, cello, jazz, blues and more! Of course, DJs are always welcome.

In addition to nightly rentals, City Art hosts Sunday Wedding Receptions with catering by Applause Catering. The rental fee for a Sunday date is $1200.00 (includes our furniture package listed in our full contract).
