Part 1 of 2. A cold afternoon, and I trotted over to Hooton on the Merseyrail network to meet up with Danny, Luke and others, to see 'The Boot and Hoot' railtour, promoted by Pathfinder tours. The first idea, was for the main traction to be 56311 hired from Hanson/Colas Rail, but engine failure. The other two grids (312 - purple livery, and 303 in Green livery) were also unavailable, leaving 'Ped' Class 31190 from Hanson to be used on this tour.
So we stand at Hooton station, lookin' at a few nasty 3 carriage boxes with wheels, whilst they go to Chester, Ellesmere and Liverpool, and then, seeing the Ped arrive with the tour, where shed 66139 in EWS livery, departs the siding, and couples up to the train, before taking it out back home.
Thanks guys for a nice, but cold meet, and good to see some clag for once from the shed.
