Australia vs. New Zealand, First test at the Gabba in 1985/86.

After Richard Hadlee destroyed the Australians in the first innings, taking 9/52, the Kiwis settled in reply to establish a massive first innings lead. Facing a tough situation Allan Border showed great character to hold onto this blinder to dismiss New Zealand's John Reid who had compiled a century.

He followed this with a great knock (152*) in Australia's second innings but it wasn't enough to avoid an innings defeat.

  • I bet Allan would of dropped that if he didn't have that mustache

  • Allan border is a true legend.

  • @Adz2631 haha, so crap he was on 108

  • Haha, how can you play at that level at not be able to move your feet when cover driving?

  • what a shit shot. The negatives should be burned.

To all children watching, that is not how you play a cover drive.

  • @IanGorton John Reid's cousin, Bruce Reid, made his debut for Australia the following month against India in Adelaide. John and Bruce first played against each other in an ODI in Melbourne in January 1986.

  • @inxia38 Was John Reid's cousin playing in this match?

  • screw johnsons attitude,

basically, its boring. i like aussies winning other things, but not cricket. too much attitude, and its usually a no contest. good skills FOR SURE

but too much attitude and its boring seeing the aussies just walking it through all the time

  • i hope it gets a bit more darker for the aussies

fuck watsons attitude, Lees attitude, pontings a conniving whinger who uses stalling tactics and crappy sportsmanship to slow game, take concentration away ie, the last tests, new ball, 5 overs or so old, Windies are getting the eyes in, starting to hit the ball, PONTING:: "oh can we have a look at this NEW ball? its all out of shape" how? its new?

  • shit he just caught third slip from 2nd

    superman skills
