(C)Vz-82 9x18 Makarov

This is my '89 CZ-82. It came with the holster, lanyard, and two twelve round magazines. These pistols also have polygonal rifling.

The Soviets didn't, but the Czechs did. It's a really nice, well made pistol. The high capacity was just one of the reasons I bought a second one.

Do NOT shoot 9mm Luger/NATO in this pistol! The case is slightly longer and a bit more narrow and will cause a jam like you would not believe. Also, the pressures in a 9x19 are greater than the 9x18. Not by much, but enough to cause serious damage to the weapon and possibly yourself. Some may say they have done it, but this pistol was not made for 9x19.

Is this not the most underrated handgun around or what? I could not believe my eyes when I started to notice what these pistols have to offer for such a low price. If it were priced $100 more, it would still be a good buy! Man, I better get one before that ever happens! i thought about getting one for concealed carry. Do you, or have you, carried this one? Reliable?

The operating pressure of the 9mm luger is WAY more than the 9mm Makarov cartridge. The 9x19 operates at a 36,000+ psi, the 9x18 max load is 23,000.

It does has less rounds in the mag, but it's not on the approved roster of handguns in the california bureau of firearms. CZ probably didn't update their list with CA or whatever.

Man, it's too bad I have to sell this gun since I'll be living in CA later. I love the bore axis and the lack of muzzle flip, and for some reason I heard it shot tight groups too. Can this shoot 9x19mm rounds without problems as well?

@ytykg There is a hi capacity variant of the PM, but the Russians couldn't quite make it work like the CZ-82/83 did.
