Gears of War 2 Scrim - Gridlock (V2)

Scrim on the V2 settings for Gridlock, our host (SpparKz was host).

Ran a 1-2-1 pretty much every round. It's tough to run more than 1 guy at snipe because of smokes, and because of how useless the sniper is compared to the boomshot. I don't really see Gridlock being an MLG map whenever the final settings come out. The spawns are way too imbalanced.

A couple questions- By 1-2-1 you mean one guy snipe one boom and 2 ink in center? Also, why are the spawns imbalanced?

Yea, and because the locust spawn side spawns closer to the middle of the map.

At 0:22 when I pick up the boomshot while sliding, that's a weapon slide.

I thought weapon sliding was against the rules. The team that spawns on the right side of the map (from snipe facing boomshot) has an advantage when racing to the boomshot, which your video clearly shows. Your team clearly out-performed the competition, but facing a team of equal skill the outcome would have been very different. Given the latter, the team who spawned on the right side of the map more times than the other would have an unfare advantage. Weapon sliding is cheating!

There was never a rule against Weapon Sliding, it was patched in the January patch however, and the only way to do it now is too long to have an effect.

But yea, Gridlock isn't being used competitively, so the imbalance doesn't really matter anymore.
